Pvt. Samuel Brunson

Samuel Brunson was born on January 9, 1841, in Sumter District, SC. He enlisted in the Union Army on April 24, 1865 and served at Beaufort, SC, under the name of Samuel Foxworth. He mustered-out of service on February 5, 1866, at Mt. Pleasant, SC. Samuel was first owned by Polly Brunson until about 1859 and went by the surname of Brunson. He was sold to Charles Foxworth and took the surname of Foxworth. After the War he took his original name of Brunson. During about ___ he married Rose "Lettie" Lewis -- she died on September 12, 1888. They had one child with Lettie, James, b. 1873. He later married Jane Johnson on December 6, 1888, by Rev. Prince Dickerson. Jane was born during 1873, at Sumter, SC. No children were born to Samuel and Jane. Samuel died on October 18, 1911, at Sumter, SC.
